Americana

Looking to show a little patriotic spirit for your country’s independence day? Check out this design from Andrea Trimbur at Valley Community Church in Peoria, Arizona. (substitute your country’s flag in upcoming scenario)

The flag panels were made from white sheets of foam-board cut into various sizes. The stars and stripes were spray-painted on using a stencil they created. Then they hung the abstract flags from various anchor points in the ceiling and floor using fishing line. Americana made simple!

Totally honest, this creeps me out.

i'm with you chris. As a worship leader I wouldn't feel comfortable leading in this venue. We do better not to align Christ with any specific country. Our allegiance is to Christ alone.

I like this look. I don't like the upside flag, I agree with Alex that's a no-no. We usually decorate for a month so this would work for July.

  4. Tammy says:

This is awesome. We are going to use this idea for July in our church.

My first thought (for 911) is awesome! It looks very amazing…I do understand about not upstaging though and I wouldn’t want the pastor to be upstaged by SO much…less is more but still very innovative and authentic USA!
