Draping

Brock Thornsbrough from North Webster Church of God in North Webster, Indiana brings us this design in a traditional space. (originally posted November 2015)

They bought a huge bolt of fabric for $800. The rest of the design was just finding places to hang the material and then draping it. To hold the swoops in place, they used PVC pipe and filled it with sand and then sealed the ends. Then they wrapped the end with the draped fabric and they could move it wherever they wanted it. The lights were all already owned by the church.

HES Color Commands! How do you like them? I’ve been presented with the opportunity of buying some.

I had one that quit working. I called the company to have it repaired and the tech told me to not fix it. He said it would be smarter to buy LED lights.

What do you mean by you filled PVC with sand? Is there a pic of this? How big was the the PVC you used? Wanting to recreate this look for a show in February.

Any chance you know what type of fabric was used?

I would like to know what type of fabric is used. Also what type of rods used on the ceiling that will not damage the ceiling. Planning to put up drapery this New Year.
