Mike Gerrells from Mission Hills in Littleton, CO brings us this simple use of printed fabric. (originally posted June 2016)
This series was about the book of Ruth and finding hope. The design was to show the logo and to have a wheat field on stage. They decided to print the entire backdrop on fabric and front and back light it. The first 2 and last 2 panels on each side were 4′ wide and 16′ tall the center 2 panels were 8′ tall and 4′ wide with the center Ruth logo at 10′ x 10′. Mike attached all the panels to the stage truss and flew it to 16’2″ then put 1″ metal pipe in the bottom of each panel so the fabric would be pulled tight.
Lighting
4 – Elation 700 spots
6 – Tri pars for panel back light
2 – Elation six par 200 to back light the center logo banner
4 – Elation six par 200 to front light the panels
10 – Mac 101 LED moving lights
1 – DF 50
If any of you are teaching on the book of Ruth and would like to borrow the fabric panels please let them know. The entire fabric set will fit into a 24″ x 24″ box. Leave a comment to request it!

Hey Mike, very cool fabric banners. We are doing a series this fall that involves a campaign to raise funds for buying land, and this would be perfect. Any chance we could borrow them per your offer above? We would need them (on stage) from Sept 11-Oct 30.
Any way you can take closer pictures? I cant really tell what kind of rebar or material you used to hold the banners.
I used 3/4 schedule 40 steel pipe to mount and weigh it down. I took that set down awhile ago so I cant take pictures of it.
Love it! We are Harvest Church a small rural church in southeastern NC. We use the wheat theme and this background would be perfect for us.
When would you need it? I sent it to a church last week and I believe it will be back first week in November.
Hi! We are interested in using this for a women’s conference in February of 2017. We are in Wisconsin. Can you let me know if this is available and how much it is? Thanks! Marlaina
Hello! I saw that a lady above asked about renting this in Feb. 2017. We have a ladies conference in February, as well. I wonder if this is still available to rent for the week of Feb 13-19. If so, what is your cost? Thank you! Susan Hill Western District Ladies Ministries, Promotions Director
