Hanging Panels

Jeremy Framstad at Grace Community Church in Fremont, Ohio brings us these hanging panels of different colors.

They purchased 4×8 sheets of corrugated plastic in three “colors” – black, clear, and white. They cut them down to 4×4 and 2×4 foot sections and hung them randomly in their space. They used LED Pars to light the panels from the floor which gave it some depth. It took about two days to cut and hang. They spent about $750 on the corrugated plastic sheets and a ton of thirty pound test fishing line.

    Great design. Looks good.

Cool and affordable idea. Panels really look great with the lighting effects. Any problems with HVAC making panels sway? Seems like they might be distracting if they moved much.

    • Jeremy Framstad says:

Yeah, The HVAC was an issue… Our room has three controlled zones, so I would just turn off the stage zone for services. I forgot one service and one panel started taking off. We just told everyone it was the holy spirit moving in the service.

  3. This is a fantastic set. I love how you are able to project on the floating panels. Nice job Grace Community Church.

Great Job! I rarely see anyone do anything modern with light colored back walls. Nice Job.

Hey guys, what kind of lighting do you have going here? Any movers? Or just PARs?

  6. Have you thought about projecting onto your setup? This would be an incredible canvas!

  7. Heather says:

Love this idea! I noticed it looks like there is a baptistry behind some of the panels in the middle? Does this create any problems when using the baptistry? Do any panels need to be moved for that?

  8. Caleb says:

Looks great – what was used for hanging? It looks to me like you have a drop ceiling above w/ tiles.

  9. Cody says:

How far away from the wall did you hang the pieces? It looks as if it is a foot or two, but there are some shadows that I like there as well that comes with distance. Thanks man.

  10. Cody says:

Also, what are your stage dimensions? How many of each color did you use in this creation?

Just because you aren’t a smoker does not mean you
won’t accidentally cause a spark. While a purchaser comes to see your home
then he sees carefully the outside area of the house
and from that he makes sure your home looks welcoming or
attractive. If you have a drill, the peep hole, and five minutes to spare,
    you have a home improvement.
