Van Metschke at South Hills Church in Corona, California brings us this heroic stage design.
To create this set they used 24″ cardboard packing boxes–some white, some natural, offset 6″ from each other. They lit the set with a combination of Coemar wash movers and gelled ETC Source Fours. The logo in the center was painted on a black wall by someone in their church (Annie Phipps) and lit with Source Four Pars. On the side walls next to the screens were cloth printed banners, lit with Source Fours.
Very clever to alternate the white boxes with natural to achieve the vari-colored checkerboard look. I love it! We have a much smaller stage but I will try this out, maybe in front of the team. Thanks for the great and elegantly executed idea.
I love it! can you explain how you did it?
How much did it cost you? I'm the new Lighting Tech in my church, I would love to change our stage and I like the way you did yours.
The boxes cost between $3 and $4 each. They are stacked and secured with gaff tape to hold them to each other.
