In the Headlights

Jeremy Framstad at Grace Community Church in Fremont, Ohio brings us these cool blinders.

Jeremy was inspired by Matt Cooper’s Deer in the Headlights.

Because they have high ceilings and a lot of space to cover, they went big. The bottom panels were 8′ x 11′ 6″. The top sections were 8′ x 5’9″. They put them in an arch to try to make their stage space smaller and put some monitors on stage in the gaps.

One of their guys made up a template out of 3/4″ MDF and they spent two days with a router and a ton of dust. They assembled them and sprayed them black.

They purchased ten 1/2″ shop lights online and dropped them into the openings. They used 60-watt incandescent, clear light bulbs so they could be dimmed. Each one was wired to a dimmer so they had independent control over each one.
