MaryAnn VanAmstel from Faith Church in Indiana brings us this chalked up stage design.
For their series “Erasable”, about sin and forgiveness, they wanted their stage to look like a blackboard. So they painted their back wall with flat black latex paint and went to work with sidewalk chalk from the dollar store. They chalked and wiped it off first to give it a messy look, then went back and drew the rest. It was inexpensive and easy to do.
Note: The flat paint isn’t as easy to wipe chalk off of. (as opposed to a real chalkboard)
What a great idea! Are you all planning to erase the “sins” through the series and replace them with words of grace and love?
I might try this, but I might look into the chalkboard paint.
