The Ghostly Tree

Kendra from The Fountain in Bloomer, WI brings us this design perfect for smaller churches…or perfect for larger churches who want to multiply this look a couple time.

They had a few minutes to setup, an extremely limited budget, and a stage only 9 feet deep. Since the screen comes down right behind the curtain they kept everything up front.

They took a music stand and popped the top off. Then they placed a pipe down the center of the stand so that it was now 8 feet tall. They drilled a hole in the pipe and used a hanger to create a loop to hang the material from. The star was from a dollar store and painted white. The material cost $5 from WalMart.

Then they back lit it with a garage light and used an end table for the wreath.

On the right hand side of the stage they put up a little Dollar Tree 4ft tree ($8) and a tall candle stand pillar ($1 garage sale). Then they cut “Faith” out of foam board.

Their biggest expense was battery operated candles!

  1. High Five to Kendra.
I couldn’t live without Wal-Mart fabric department for designing stages.

  2. How much of the white material is needed to make the tree? How far down the pipe is the hole drilled for the hanger to make the loop …. Any further, more explicit directions for making the tree would be helpful…Really like this idea and am contemplating using it for Advent Season!

This is a really awesome idea! I too would like to know much of the white material is needed to make the tree? How far down the pipe is the hole drilled for the hanger to make the loop and any further, more explicit directions you may have available. Thank you.
