Holy Griswolds

Mandy Holden from Innovation Church in Lafayette, IN shares there design during Holidays.

We took a fun twist on the movie National Lampoons Christmas with a series called Jesus and the Griswolds.
Focusing on the crazy family members that Jesus had in his lineage and life from Moses, Solomon, David and more and comparing them to the different characters in the movie.
For the stage set we recreated the Griswolds living room. We used thick foam sheets for the backdrop and made it look like the walls and fireplace in thier living room.
We ordered the burnt car from Amazon for the bottom of the chair.
We used a blow torch to burn an old Christmas tree to create the burnt free.
Around the church we used old frames with pictures of the movie characters as well as move quotes to go on the tables.
Our event team created fun props such as the burnt turkey, Aunt Bethany’s jello molds etc to decorate the around the building on on the stage.
Outside we created a fun display with Clark decorating with lights and hanging from the building with a ladder falling, and parked a RV decorated in lights. Our neighbors were able to drive by and check out the lights and get selfies with the RV- warning… a few neighbors did not appreciate the having Clark and one almost called 911. But most of our community LOVED it and stopped by to thank us for creating a fun display!
