Ben Newsom from Eagle Church in Whitestown, IN brings us this stage design their whole church helped build.
For their Advent set, they decide to go with paper rings with foam trees. To cover their stage it would take roughly 40,000 paper rings. Ben was able to find a printing company willing to cut all the paper for them. Once the paper was cut they roughly counted out 120 rings (this would cover from their fly space to stage deck).
They put out a big ask to their congregation to help. If every family would do 2 stacks they would be able to do it. The first Sunday they had about 70% picked up. The next Sunday they started to get back in and the rest of the paper was picked up.
The trees were cut out of foam board. They have 2 layers of paper chains to give it depth. All in all this set cost about $600 for a stage 48′ by 26′ is cheap.
Supplies:
10,000 sheets of paper = 40,000 rings
8 sheets of 4′ by 8′ by 1″
