Stage Designs

Buttons and Lines

Mark Yakey from Lifebridge Church in Longmont, CO brings us this half-styrofoam ball design.

From Mark: This stage design came with inspiration from Generations Church in Greely, CO. We used asphalt integrated boards found at home depot for our backers. For all the hung pieces we used metal studs to support the vertical length as well as the hang points at the top. The Styrofoam half balls were from smoothfoam.com.

We ended up making a jig to set the balls so alignment was a little easier and two people could easily apply liquid nails and apply the balls down and do an 8′ section in less than 10 minutes.

For the LED tape we put pine 1×2 painted black screwed through from the back with some fender washers. The LED channel was put over on the black 1×2’s and we put in RGBW tape we found off amazon. All of the LED channels we run off of two 8 channels LED drivers. Each panel was its own channel so we could control the panel individually.

Uplighting on the panels was from a single Martin Rush Batten 1 Hex each. We ended up with 3 vertical 16′ sections and 6 vertical 8′ sections and 1 horizontal 8′ section.
