If you’re like me, you’re probably already planning for Christmas next year. If you aren’t like me…you should be. :)
Mitchell Botsford from Horizon Christian Fellowship in Rancho Sante Fe, California brings us this Christmas masterpiece. Their theme was called “presence”. They built 11 box frames and utilized the way they built the frame to create a ribbon look. The box frames were then covered in interplant plastic and lit by leds.
The bows were just rigid instillation cut with a hot knife. Simple, effective, festive.
Awesome job on this. I like the clean look of the wrapping. Is there another name for "interplant plastic". I haven't been able to find anything online for it and I'm completely clueless about what it is.
Thanks
Hey Dan! Mitchell sent me this link (where he got the stuff) http://www.ridoutplastics.com/lexan-thermoclear.h…
You can use White DBOARD.
I love this set idea and want to use it this season but have a few questions:
1. Did you use clear or white plastic?
2. Are the gifts only lit from within? Or did you use overhead lighting, too?
3. Did you use the same plastic for the backs of the gifts? Or were they something else? Painted?
4. Did you paint the bows white to reflect the light?
Thanks for any help you can give me!
I know this is an old post, but I’d like to hear the answers from the above list of questions.
1. Did you use clear or white plastic?
2. Are the gifts only lit from within? Or did you use overhead lighting, too?
3. Did you use the same plastic for the backs of the gifts? Or were they something else? Painted?
4. Did you paint the bows white to reflect the light?
The plastic material link above does not indicate the exact material used in the picture. Do you have any specifics on the Lexan Thermoclear sheets?
Agree with Katie and Jason! Love this concept and would appreciate additional information on how the set was constructed. Blessings…
Hello…did anyone ever get the responses to the questions posted above? I would like to do this stage design for Christmas.
How was this made? Were there any instuctions posted?
