Stage Designs

Highlight Strips

Francesco Carbone and Jeff Muir from OneChurch.to in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada brings us this cool horizontal stage.

They used a mixture of Elation Pixel Bars and some MDF flatrock to create their design. They made sure to purchase MDF that had the same width as their pixel bars. The bars had a white frost filter on them, and the wood was also white. When the bars were off, they blended in with the set with whatever color they were washing it with. You can’t even tell they’re up there — but when they turn them on, they pop, giving their wall a 3D feel and giving them the ability to fire off motion loops, backgrounds and effects to them throughout the gathering.

What fixture are you using to wash the MDF? The battens on the floor.

    • Hi Ben,

We have Chauvet Colorband series LEDBars on the bottom and a few American DJ wash fixtures flown in the air to wash the MDF.

Feel free to shoot me an email if you have anymore questions regarding the build. We are in progress of making a video going into more depth on it — which we’ll post to our youtube.
