Living Room Christmas

The MCC Arts team from Manchester Christian Church in Manchester, NH brings us this Hallmark-feeling Christmas look.

Set:

This Christmas, they went for a Hallmark Christmas set, trying to make the stage look like a living room with windows, curtains and trees. The curtains were very light fabric that’s see-through, being lit from the bottom with two LED bars for each of the three curtains that were hung by little clips with a zip tie at the top connected to a bar coming down from their main truss. The windows were made of black plastic panels they had lying around. They put white tape on them to complete the look of it.

Lighting:

Jake wanted to make a “grid” of lights. The grid contained 6 blizzard Lighting Hotstiks and 6 Elation six par 100s creating a 4×3 grid. On the floor they had 12 off-brand LED bars – six as back light in the haze shining up to the ceiling and six on the three curtains. Also on the floor were 2 Pptima dimmer packs where the 2 Christmas trees were connected, and 3 old Altman CYC lights used as audience blinders. Then on the sides were 2 six pars to add light on cameras when they take side shots.
