Silver Trees

Cristian Gastou from Iglesia Desarrollo Cristiano (Christian Development Church) in Lawrenceville, GA brings us this design inspired by Tree Variety, but with a silver twist.

Their main challenge was the small space they had available.

They followed the instructions with 2×4’s for the tree structures. To create the textures, they used gift wrap in grey/silver tones, aluminium foil, fabric with sequins, and stencils they bought at Hobby Lobby. In the big tree on the left side, they recycled some aluminum window screening for the “filling” and wrapped it in clear plastic wrap.

For the one with the Christmas lights, they chose to put a sheet of styrofoam insulation (the one that comes with a silver cover, bought at Home Depot) on the back of the tree to give it a kind of 3D look.

After they presented the trees, they realize that the bases of the trees looked ugly and distracting, so they covered them with polyester stuffing to make it look like snow.
