Amy Mead from Findlay First Church of the Nazarene in Findlay, Ohio, shared that their design was inspired by the Empty Tomb concept. The tomb, hill, and cross were crafted from purple construction foam sheets, digitally designed and precisely cut using a laser saw. These pieces were painted in varying shades of brown and matte black, using a sponge and plastic bag technique to create a textured finish. The wood frames were built from leftover 2x4s and secured with screws. Greenery was added at the base for a natural look. They also repurposed 8-foot wooden poles, attaching white chiffon, greenery, and donated florals.
The total project cost was approximately $300.
