Todd Bougher, helping Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, LA, brings us this stage with a ton of triangles.
To create the triangle pieces:
Todd CNC cut them out of 3mm ultraboard sign material. The material comes in 4×8 sheets and has a shell of thin plastic and the inside is foam. Ultraboard comes in many colors, but he ordered black and laminated brushed aluminum vinyl on some as an accent. Black does pick up light.
They designed the triangles to connect to one another with a circle hub. The 3 holes in the corners of the triangle coordinates with holes in the circle hub. They locked together with plastic Christmas tree rivets. The rivets are made for cars to hold carpet down in trunks or interior panels.
Also in the “money” shot are triangles with middles cut made of alumibond. They connect just like the black ones. There were 18 Elation pixel bars mounted to a square tubing frame that matched the angle of the triangles. This set went through a few tweaks along the way to stretch the life of the set.
