Kaleb Wilcox for Topeka Bible Church in Topeka, Kansas brings us these great wing pieces. (Originally posted November 2012)
They repurposed materials from previous designs for this stage design.
They cut the leftover Coroplast into 2″, 3″, and 4″ wide strips of varying lengths and stapled them diagonally to black 2″x4″ frames. The frames were 4 foot wide by 8 foot high and each one was lit with an ADJ Mega Tri Bar.
On the wall behind the drum kit were 7 Auralex diffusion panels that, while dampening the drum kit, also create a nice texture when lit.
The rest of the lighting consisted of 8 Elation Opti Tri Pars, 2 ADJ Mega Bars, and 2 Elation Platinum 5Rs.
Wow! This looks awesome- what kind of budget did you have?
Since this was a recycle of previous set elements (my goal was for the set to cost me $0) , its hard to say what the budget was. If built from scratch I would estimate the cost of materials around $200
Where do you get your Coroplast from?
Man, that’s awesome!
Kaleb,
This looks amazing I would love to use this amazing idea at some point. Thanks for your talented work for God’s Kingdom. If you are ever headed to the Norman, OK area, shoot me an e-mail. I would love to meet up with you.

Great job, ?
What is the model # you American DJ Mega Tri Bar & what was the price you paid?
Thank you!
Don’t know the model number but the price was around $500 each
Can you give me the dimensions of your screen and the projector you are using? Thanks
I know this was forever ago but do you have any idea how many sheets of coroplast would have been used? I’m trying to figure out how much to buy.
How did you construct the frames and the braces?
Has anyone done this stage design using LED strips? If so were you able to create the same effect?
