Brian Telestai from Revive Church in Boise, Idaho brings us this super hero concept stage.
This design was for their series, “Be Brave” and was executed for under $200 in about 15 hours. The entire design was done in paint on their stage wall that was 45’x17′. It was painted in three stages.
The sky was done in a semi gloss paint, the white moon and silver cape was done in an eggshell gloss, and the skyline and superhero was done in a flat black paint. These different finishes of paint helped to give dimension to the design and helped the light to play off the elements differently. The moon was painted with a single brush, allowing the existing black paint behind to show through for texturing in certain spots. They were able to get really clean lines and keep proportions correct by projecting the reference image onto the wall for their edging.
I like the idea that creating interesting state designs doesn’t have to cost allot of money or take a tremendous amount of time.
