Livestream Setup

Ashton Cole Ivey from Christ Alive Church in Newton, NC brings us this great livestream setup.

From Ashton: Rather than filming on a set built more for a live audience, we wanted to do our best to relate to the online viewer watching from home.

The audience knows our pastor isn’t speaking to a live audience, so rather than simulate the feeling of “big church”, we think it’s best to focus on relating directly to that online watcher.

We reset our entire center stage to to give the vibe of a modern living room, as many would be watching church online from theirs.

We also opted to utilize our stage, because our stage lights were already in place – requiring no extra setup on our end (outside of changing light scenes). Since there is no natural light in the room, we have full control of the lighting no matter what time of day we would be filming.

The pretty bar lights we used were already on hand, yet very affordable. You can find them here available in different color temps and light lengths.

How are you holding up those light bars? Are they on mic stands?
