Jeremy Courtright from Seven Marks Church in Raleigh, NC brings us this beautiful look.
They built boxes with 2×6 lumber for the sides and 1×8 lumber top and bottom. 10 inch strips were cut from white 1/4 inch paneling (4’x8′ sheets). The boxes were 50 inches tall and 4 feet wide and 6 inches deep. This allowed them to put a Monoprice bar light inside and attach another to the front on the top. The boxes looked almost like a pallet with the white paneling strips alternating so they could show one color on the inside and another on the outside.
The boxes were hung from the ceiling in two layers. The front row only had 4 panels. They added a 3rd screen in the middle for a Sunday and took down 2 of the boxes.
This design allowed them to use the inside as one look, the outside for another look or use both the inside and outside for another look.
Their budget was $2800 for:
Lumber:
2x6x8 – Home Depot
1x8x16 – Previous design
Lighting:
Stage Right Bar Light – Monoprice
Other:
Cable
Cable Clamps
Black paint for sides
