Jeremy Ginn from Alto Frio Baptist Encampment in Leakey, TX brings us these cool portable LED line fixtures.
Four pieces of 1 1/4” steel pipe, two 72” and 2 48”, four flanges, and a 2×4 sheet of plywood cut in half make up the stands. They covered them in carpet instead of painting the bases.
RGB LED strips and LED channels with frosted lenses make up the LED lines. Jeremy double-sided taped them to the pipe and wrapped zip ties at the top and bottom to keep the LED channels attached. The 1 1/4” pipe was chosen because of the fixture clamps he already had to mount the Pars. The RGB strips are controlled with an RGBW DMX decoder. The units are easy to transport.
The last two pics are of the stands being used at our home church the same weekend. Transportation was made easy by being able to unscrew the pipe from the board.
Costs:
$30 in RGBs
$120 in pipe, flanges, wood, and carpet
$80 for 32 channel DMX Decoder (overkill but will be used for future projects)
