Stage Designs

Rustic Renew

Ryan Bailey/ Jordy Suchodolski from Mountain View Community Church shares their Rustic and Refreshing Stage Design Ideas

Our stage at Mountain View Community Church is tricky—a small, intimate box setting. Grand designs don’t work, so we rely on simple elements: lights, candles, and rustic textures.

Feeling low on ideas, I discovered a surprising trend: bringing artificial plants back into church stage design! I handed the project to our admin, Jordy Suchodolski, who has a knack for crafts. This was a ministry lesson in setting gifted people free!

  • Summer Success: We started with simple, low-profile greenery that instantly brought life to the space.

  • The Fall Look: Jordy updated the theme for fall, using an arrangement of fall-themed plants, candles, and boxes. (The crosses and string lights are holdovers.)

The entire project cost less than a couple hundred dollars (the artificial maple tree was the biggest expense at $\sim \$50$). The result is a cozy, high-impact design that required almost no effort from me, thanks to Jordy’s creative gifts.
