Winter Athletes

Leighton Dietz from Rhema Bible Church in Broken Arrow, OK brings us this winter olympic-themed stage.

The mountains were made out of sheets of foam that they had in storage. They cut them into the shape of mountains and then cut into them to carve out the cracks.

The clouds were thin foam board, cut and painted.

For the Ski Ramp, Leighton made an ‘L’- shaped base out of 2 x 4 boards and filled in everything else with the foam that they cut into pieces and hot glued together.

The torch was a cardboard tube (Lowes- $6) spray painted gold, electrical tape, pool noodles glued around it, a punch bowl (Party supply store- $8) , and foam board cut and spray painted.

The laurels around the torch were just foam board cut and spray painted gold.

The wooden lettering on the sports silhouettes was peel and stick flooring. It’s relatively easy to cut, lightweight, and only $0.95 a board.

The set cost them $50 to build.
