Mike Gerrells from Mission Hills in Littleton, CO brings us this neighborly stage design.
This series was to show the art of being a good neighbor. The design concept was to build a fake neighborhood on stage and have real life neighborly things happening pre and post service. The band would sit on the stage talking and throwing a football while the “kids” gave out lemonade and accepted tips that went toward their Poland mission trip. They also had a mailman delivering mail to the different houses and then he would go into the audience and give letters to random people that had letters from their student ministry thanking them for coming to church that day and asking for prayer for the trip to Poland.
The Build
3 houses 12′ wide and 4′ deep and 12′ tall. Outside houses were wrapped with brick paneling with the windows and garage doors made from MDF and Coroplast. The center house was wrapped with 1/8 plywood to look like siding.
Add-ons:
3 – mailboxes
lemonade stand
6 – outdoor lawn chairs
a kiddie pool
indoor plants
kid bikes
and a Grill as the pulpit
