Bumpy Christmas

Charlton Cupp from Harvest Baptist in Paragould, Arkansas brings us these cool trees.

The decorative wall panel trees came from Amazon, using a few different designs: Design 1. Design 2.

Charlton used 4×8 sheets of 1/4″ luan panel board for the backing. They were 9-10′ tall. He glued the decorative panels to the luan with liquid nails and Gorilla glue, then used an oscillating tool to cut the tree shapes. He hung some on the back wall with monkey hooks, and some they built stands for with 2x4s.

A few of the trees he cut from sheets of Coroplast and built stands for them. Some were 8′ tall and a few were 4′ tall. He sprayed them with silver glitter paint from Lowe’s.

Two of the trees were made from 1x2s. After making the triangle shape, they wrapped them with regular soft white Christmas lights. Those turned out nice…they’re transparent. He’s seen some folks wrap those with plastic wrap, and it looked cool. He built stands for those as well.

Four of the trees were LED tape that he attached to the wall. THey have a frosted track for those, and they control them with DMX decoders.

He used several 4′ Chauvet Battons to uplight those.

The stars are paper 3D.
