Stephen Ellis from Arlington Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Arlington, Texas brings us his rendition of Zen and the Art…but more lighting centric.
Stephen made his back panels out of single sheets of 1/4″ underlayment nailed to a 2×4 frame – each sheet made one panel for a total of 4. For the tea light holders he cut two 8 foot 2x4s into 3 inch blocks for a total of 60. He screwed those on to the panels using 15 blocks per panel. He stained the panels and the blocks with American Chestnut colored stain. The tea lights were battery operated LED tea lights.
Each panel weighed about 10 to 15 pounds and could be lifted by one person.
This design cost about $125 for materials aside from the tea lights and votive holders which the church already had.
This is a winner! :)
