Bryce Baldwin with Rome Alliance Church in Rome, NY brings is a wonderful refresh of a classic worship space. If you missed last week’s Classic Reboot, this is picking up on that same very popular theme. Like we’ve mentioned before, adding a two-tone paint scheme and some natural materials (wood, stone, etc) warms up the space dramatically without requiring a massive remodel of a sanctuary. From Bryce:
We first started by removing everything on the wall including the screen. We proceeded to paint everything black, we then put the boards on. We got the wood from Home Depot; there are 5 different patterns to pick from and we designed it as we went.
We also removed a door, turned another door around to blend in and made a fake wall over the baptismal.
We painted the wall above it a matte black and got a 15×8 screen.
We took our two pieces up front, painted them black and back lit them.
We paid someone in church to do it and others helped. All together was around $5,000.
