Jeremy Framstad from Grace Community Church in Fremont, Ohio brings us this recreation of the fan-style design.
Jeremy loved the fan wall that Christy Martinez from New Vintage Church had put together. NorthPoint did something similar for Christmas a few years back and it was on their list as something they had to do. They wanted to do something similar, but they had so much space to cover. They have an area of about 80′ wide by 24′ tall to fill. They started with a truss structure that was anchored to the floor and back wall. After that was up, they attached 2 x 4’s to the truss in order to give them something to attach the Coroplast sheets to. They had used Coroplast in the past and were able to reuse all their old stock. The big fan was about 20′ tall x 40′ wide. They used an old overhead projector to get their arch right.
They used Black, Clear, and White Coroplast cut to different sizes and lengths. It took 3 guys, 4 days to get this up and ready for their Easter services.
I would love to see a any more of the actual structure that help this all up. Great final product!!
Brandon,
If you look at the rendering there are some truss towers behind each arch. The truss was anchored to the floor. Attached to the truss with 2″ conduit straps were 2 x 4s painted black. We then stapled the coloplast to the 2 x 4s.
I found one picture from the inside I can send you if you’d like.
I’d love to see a picture from the “inside”. It would really help.
Hit me up on twitter or send me an email and I’ll get you that picture.
Hello Jeremy, nice work
I really like this work, you can send me a picture of how to hold the wall coloplast to trueguatemala@gmail.com
Same here….lewis_brandt@yahoo.com
love this! i would love to see those attachment points as well. if you could send me those behind the scenes pics that would be awesome.
Here is the only picture I have of the inside of the structure. It is truss with a 2″ conduit strap, that is is screwed into a 2 x 4. This is the back of the big arch.
The coloplast is then stapled to the 2 x 4.
