Kids/Youth Designs

In Gear

Mike Gerrells from Mission Hills in Littleton, CO brings us this fun mechanical looking design for their kidmin sports camp.

Mike was asked by the kids ministry to use gears and make it colorful, big and flashy. The design had 1′, 2′, 4′, 6′, 8′ and 10′ gears on the stage all in different colors and depths. The material was 1/8″ foam core with the colors printed on them. They had their local print shop cut out all the gears and ship them to them. With foam core only coming in 4’x8′ sheets, they had to tape most of the bigger ones together.

Game Walls

They built the game walls out of MDF and random parts from Home Depot and had the kids use tennis balls to race each other from the top to the bottom of the game walls.

In the lobby, they used two 4′ x 8′ framed walls with 1/4” plywood to hold the gears as the kids came into the worship center.

Lighting was mostly LED with 12 pars, 10 moving heads, 8 strips and 30ish spots.
