The summer concert season is an exciting time for music enthusiasts and performers alike. Mark Cannon from Flat Creek Baptist Church shared that they embarked on a project to build a visually stunning stage design.
Mark said “We built a blend of Tiny Lines and All the Levels for our summer concert series. The horizontal slats are 2” white Coroplast strips cut with a Coroclaw, stapled to furring strip frames on 2×4 bases, lit by 42” ADJ Mega Bars. The columns are neutral Coroplast lit by a LED par in each base. The blinders were custom-built using clamp lights, 1×8 boards, luan, and window screens, controlled by a dimmer pack. The columns were spaced outward because we didn’t like the look of them on the screen behind the speaker. The total cost for the wood, paint, and Coroplast (bought surplus from a sign shop on Craigslist for $5 per 4×6’ sheet) was under $300, all work done by Mark and Austin Cannon over a couple of weeks. We already had the lights.”
They achieved an impressive stage design for our summer concert series. This project demonstrates that remarkable results can be achieved even on a tight budget.

Amazing work, Mark. Being on a team together and witnessing first hand the flexibility and impactful design that budget solutions can produce is an encouragement to so many seeking solutions to mechanisms of productive presentation.
