While browsing Shift Worship for Easter graphics, our lead pastor and I spotted a stained glass “Jesus” design and thought—let’s make this real on stage. After checking out ideas on ChurchStageDesignIdeas.com and gathering tips, we built a vibrant, stained-glass-style Jesus sign for around $250.
What We Used:
5 foam insulation boards (8x4ft, 1in) – $100
Colored cellophane – $16
Hot foam wire cutters – $16 each
Latex paint, painter’s tape – Already had
Zip ties, 4x4s, garden posts – For DIY stands
Rockville Rock strip lights – $90 each (for up lighting)
We traced old stencils to cut out the letters, taped out stained-glass patterns, painted them, then glued on colored cellophane for that glassy effect. Foam was a bit flimsy, so we mounted each letter using zip ties and garden stakes in wood blocks. Stage lights from above and Rock strip bars from below made it glow beautifully.
This design was bold, meaningful, and budget-friendly—and it made Easter feel extra special. If you’re looking to bring stained glass to your stage without breaking the bank, foam + cellophane = magic.
